After you complete your online shopping or waiting in lines on Black Friday tune into TNT at 3pm ET to watch The Match 3 take place between Phil Mickelson and Charles Barkley versus Steph Curry and Peyton Manning. The match will take place at Stone Canyon Golf Club in Oro Valley, Arizona, and the proceeds will raise funds for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). With TNT’s live coverage the host will be Brian Anderson providing play by play, and co-hosts Andre Iguodola and Trevor Immelman. On the course, announcers for the event will be Cheyenne Woods and Gary McCord. I cannot wait to hear Gary tear apart Charles Barkley’s swing. Also, if you have the Bleacher Report app they are offering a “Cart Cam” that shows the interaction of the players while driving their carts around, hosted by LPGA legend Michelle Wie.

The Format

The match will consist of an 18 hole modified alternate shot format. This type of format includes both players teeing off with their respected tee shots, and then swapping balls for their 2nd/approach shot, and finally the teams will decide which ball they want to continue with for their third and further shots. It all depends on how Charles Barkley can hit the driver and if he can keep it in play!

Huge name recognition in the professional level of sports here, but how does their golf game hold up, here we have a breakdown of our competitors:

The Golfers

Phil Mickelson: (3x Masters Champ, 1 PGA Champ, 1 Open Champ, 53 Professional wins). Everybody knows him and what he can do with a golf ball. He is the best of the whole group going out, but paired with the worse how will that play out?

Handicap: 0

Charles Barkley: (NBA MVP, 11x All Star, Swing is awful). Charles Barkley has shown that he is a competitor and a winner but can his golf swing come around to help out when needed most.

Handicap: Unknown

Peyton Manning: (2x Super Bowl Champ, 5x MVP). Peyton Manning gets his second go around after competing in Match 2 with Tiger, Phil, and Tom Brady. He played well and even at times shutting Brady up unlike on the football field.

Handicap: 6.4

Steph Curry: (3x NBA Champ, 2x MVP, 6x All Star). Steph Curry knows his way around the basketball court making it rain from deep, but will that continue on the green grass of Stone Cannon Golf Club. Steph Curry is a proficient golfer even playing on the Web.com tour, but insight information is saying his game has been off the past couple months.

Handicap: 2
