Back at it Again: Boz's Beats

Welcome to another edition of Boz’s Beats! This week we are going to take a deep dive on teasers in College basketball, prop bets, and O/U in rushing yards for players. Sports betting is most commonly known for things like betting the spread, Over/Under with the total points, and who is picked to outright win the game (A.K.A. - Moneyline). However, there are a lot more oddities and saber-metric parts of sports that a lot of people really never pay attention too, that have untapped potential to keep the food on the table, rent for the month! So let’s take a look at what I am talking about!

1. Teasers

Teasers are classified as adjusting the regular spread either in favor of you or against you to get better odds. The most common way people do it is teasing in way of their favor, but decreasing the odds of you winning more money. Recently, what has been working the most for me is teasing college basketball games. Usually, I will do a four - team teaser with the college basketball spreads I really like, and put it more in my favor to win. The best way to take teasers in these games is to bet on the team that is getting points (usually denoted by a "+" sign and a number of points following it). Another good way is to tease a team down that you think is going to win and is favored at -4.5 or -5. This way you can get that team at a pick’em with no points involved. The money will add up over time, especially if you keep hitting teasers. As a wise man once said “rack em up” and if you keep with the college basketball teasers your money will rack up over time.

2. Prop Bets

Prop bets are something that a lot of people stay away from and I really don’t know why. If you really dive into some of these prop bets you can find some steals that will win you some easy money. Prop bets usually consist of O/U in rushing, receiving, passing touchdowns, receptions, etc. They also have one of my personal favorites which is a Touchdown Scorer, whether it is the first touchdown of the game or who scores a touchdown throughout the game. These bets are risky, but what isn’t risky when it comes to sports betting? All I know is that you can win some serious cash with these and you got to go big to win big sometimes or as I always say “high risk = high reward”.

3. O/U in rushing yards

This prop bet comes to my attention because a good friend of mine pointed out one of the easiest prop bets I have seen ever. So, last week the Ravens had RG3 as their starting QB, and as we all know that Ravens offense loves to run the football. RG3 may not be Lamar Jackson, but he is definitely a mobile quarterback. His O/U rushing yards for the game were 25.5 yards, and yes I said that correctly 25.5! You could’ve back the Brinks truck up on that bet or even bet your rent for the month and that bet was guaranteed to hit (which it did he had 60 rushing yards for the game). My point is go check out O/U rushing yards for players in games coming up because you could find another steal like that RG3 bet. Shout out to our host Joe Chic on that bet.
